Sharing an event last-minute just before it starts is now even easier on Facebook. The social media network just revealed that it’s testing a feature that lets users share their events to their Stories.
If a user visits an event page, s/he can now opt to “Share to Your Story”. Friends are then able to respond by showing their interest in an event or visiting the event page.
Furthermore, it allows users to instantly check out which of their friends are attending the same event.
Currently, the new addition is being tested across select countries including the US, Brazil and Mexico, but is likely to be rolled out to a wider audience this year.
Although Stories currently has roughly 300 million daily active users, but the latest addition may be more of an attempt to win back younger audiences.
According to research by eMarketer, Facebook will lose 2.2 million teenagers to Snapchat and Instagram by 2022.
By adding event sharing, the network hopes to increase engagement among the younger age group.
