As COVID-19 leads to a growing number of people making online deliveries, delivery apps such as FedEx and package tracking apps like Arrive have seen a rapid increase in demand.
Among the package tracking apps that saw a rise in demand are 17TRACK, Parcel, AfterShip Package Tracker, Parcels and ParcelTrack, according to insights by Apptopia.
Arrive, owned by Shopify, is more widely used than any of its competitors.
According to Adam Blacker, VP of Insights at Apptopia, Arrive is easy to operate with a home screen that provides an overview of all packages and status updates. Shipping updates and confirmations are also available.
Meanwhile, delivery mobile apps also saw notable increases in new users. The apps can be used as trackers for packages shipped by FedEx and co which do not provide tracking methods.
The United States Postal Service app saw download numbers rise to the most during its lifetime in April.
