Mobile app analytics firm TUNE has been acquired by Constellation Software, a Canadian software company, for an undisclosed sum.
TUNE is being acquired as part of the Perseus Operating Group, which is a unit of Constellation that buys independent service software and mobile firms.
The mobile analytics company has built a SaaS performance marketing platform to help marketers partners more effectively on mobile and web and maximise their ROI.
As part of Perseus, TUNE will become a part of a unit focused on digital marketing joining CAKE which the group acquired in 2019.
Peter Hamilton, CEO of TUNE said:
“They’re not trying to consolidate, strip out all the costs and smash it all together to try and flip it. The strategy here is to buy and hold companies for the long term as they grow market share profitably and sustainably.”
“We’re still early days in providing partner marketing software to advertisers, so we need owners that want to see that play out over the long term,” he added. “We’re making a bet that the platform software approach is the right one for supporting the growth of partner marketing.”
Since it was founded in 1995, Constellation has acquired some 600 companies. TUNE has around 170 members of staff and there will be some restructuring as the company joins Constellation’s portfolio.
