Bytedance, the company behind popular short-form video app TikTok, has launched its video editing app Viamaker, or Jianying, internationally without making an announcement.
The app lets users modify their videos by adding effects and filters, trimming them and adding subtitles.
Viamaker is popular in China where it previously featured among the top 10 most-downloaded free apps on the Apple App Store.
The app attracted five million downloads in March 2020. It has been available in China for around 12 months.
The International version of Viamaker is available in English, Korean, Japanese and Portugese languages.
The app was originally created by Shenzhen Lianmeng Technology, which Bytedance acquired in 2018 at a price tag go $300 million.
The launch comes at a great time for Bytedance. Only last week, SensorTower announced that TikTok was downloaded more than 2 billion worldwide across Apple and Google stores.
