Snapchat is expected to launch a new augmented reality feature on October 3, where art will be pinned to global locations and viewable through the platform. At launch, artist Jeff Koons is likely to be featured, but Snapchat will be accepting submissions from other artists once the AR platform is live.

A dedicated Snapchat website with the URL art.snapchat.com has a countdown timer that will expire at 3pm ET on October 3, when all the details will be revealed. However, leaks have shown several images of Koon’s balloon art at landmarks around the world already.

The app will use a special Lens to alert people a piece of art is nearby, and an indicator will guide them to the location, ready to spot the augmented reality art installation. New York, London, Sydney, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro are all among the cities Snapchat Art can be seen after the launch.

Snapchat will reveal all the official information later on today.
