Apple has announced it will release the public version of iOS 12 and WatchOS 5 on September 17, with the Golden Master developer beta versions available to download now. The news came as Apple launched the latest iPhone models, named the iPhone Xs, the iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone XR.
The new software was detailed during the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June, and includes a variety of new features including grouped notifications, Siri Shortcuts, a digital health system, and plenty more.
WatchOS 5 will also introduce new features; but crucially it will take advantage of the new Apple Watch Series 4’s larger screen. The other new device launched by Apple on September 12, the new watch’s screen is more than 30% larger than previous models, and can display more complications and information.
To date, Apple has shipped more than two billion iOS devices, which includes the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The new iPhone models will have iOS 12 installed as standard, will go on sale September 21.
