Smaato, the in-app ad platform, has announced Ajitpal Pannu as the company’s new CEO.
Pannu previously served as Chief Business Officer for Smaato before he left the company in 2017.
Based in San Francisco, Pannu will focus more heavily on the company’s US business and oversee global operations to focus on mobile-first innovations for publishers.
Pannu joins with over 20 years of experience managing digital ad and monetisation technologies. He held leadership roles at OpenX, Adify and DoubleClick before joining Smaato in 2013.
“Publishers are the life force that drives the mobile advertising market, and they deserve technology that gives them commanding control of their monetization. Smaato has the opportunity to lead the market as the premier global mobile advertising platform, and I’m excited to take on that challenge with the team,” said Ajitpal Pannu, Smaato’s new CEO.
In his previous role as CBO, Pannu managed product, strategy and sales to help develop the programmatic mobile tech platform.
Following the success of Smaato’s recent release of its modular NextGen SDK, the company plans to build products for mobile publishers to round out its core technologies.
