Tapjoy, the mobile advertising company, has partnered with interactive game maker Atari, to roll out rewarded adverts for its mobile games.
Players of the hit game RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch can now earn free in-app coins when they choose to watch videos and engage with ads from Tapjoy’s ad partners. The rewarded ads will also be available for games Goon Squad and Lunar Battle soon.
Tony Chien, Senior Director of Marketing at Atari, says that the company is focused on the end-user experience. Earning in-app freebies in exchange for simply viewing content may be one way to do that.
“We chose to make Tapjoy one of our first ad partners because they represent such a high number of premium brands and the quality of their ad products is second to none.”
RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch has now reached seven million downloads with 125 million sessions globally since it was launched in February 2017. The Tapjoy partnership means that players will be able to access Tapjoy’s Offerwall Plus to check out rewarded ad offers from brands including adidas, Sephora and Yoplait.
The strategy has paid off for Tapjoy, with mobile opt-in and rewarded ads clearly preferred among US consumers by a 4-to-1 margin.
Ben Chen, SVP & GM, Developer Relations, Tapjoy, adds:
“Atari is one of the most recognizable and beloved brands in all of gaming, and we are honored that the company chose us as one of their first ad partners for rewarded ads. Gamers love rewarded advertising because it lets them do more and engage deeper within their favorite mobile games without having to pay. Our mission is to leverage the power of rewarded ads so that publishers such as Atari can monetize their apps effectively while giving their users a first-rate gaming experience.”
