Mobile advertising platform StartApp featured at the App Promotion Summit in London this year with a presentation on the challenges of mobile marketing. The company was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in New York with offices in San Francisco, Israel, China and India. It currently partners with over 100,000 applications and offers advertisers over 6 billion monthly ad impressions on a global basis. StartApp’s EMEA Business Development Manager, Marina Nissim, spoke about using analytics and BI to find out which features work best for app advertisers.
StartApp’s Marina Nissim talks about the challenges of mobile advertising
Marina started the presentation by briefly talking about StartApp’s success in helping app developers navigate the mobile advertising landscape. She then spoke about the importance of having an advert that captures the app user’s attention, saying what was likely to get noticed and what wasn’t. Marina stated that the key elements for programmatic targeting come down to the country the app is launched in, the timing of the launch, and the category of the app. She also highlighted how certain apps will be hugely successful in some places, and will completely fail in others. The final message of the presentation was that A/B testing is a never-ending challenge that needs constant adjustment from app marketers.
