Music streaming service Spotify has announced a new version of its Wear OS app, made specifically for smartwatches. The new app has a new user interface, and the company has partnered with device maker Fossil to pre-install the app on certain smartwatches.

Mikael Ericsson, Spotify’s senior product director, said:

“We’re excited to bring improved on-the-go-access to your favorite music and podcasts to millions of Spotify users on Wear OS by Google smartwatches. Being able to easily access, control, and connect music directly from your wrist opens up a world of new opportunities. We look forward to continuing to improve the Spotify experience in this space.”

The Wear OS app helps avoid using your phone, and provides access to everything from current track selections, the Discover Weekly playlist, and a quick way to add songs to your favorites collection.

Fossil will pre-install the app on the new Fossil and Micheal Kors Access Runway smartwatches from November, while the Wear OS app update will be available this week.
