Snapchat has hired Sriram Krishnan, formerly responsible for mobile monetisation at Facebook. Having joined Facebook in 2013, he helped launch the Audience Network. According to sources, he announced his departure last week.
Sriram Krishnan joins Snapchat
The move was confirmed by a Snapchat spokesperson who told Re/code that Krishnan would be part of the company’s revenue and growth department. It is not clear what his exact role will be.
However, it seems his expertise is just what Snapchat needs right now. The messaging app is busy expanding its advertising network through automation of its ad technology and potential acquisitions. Krishnan could help find revenue opportunities given his expertise in building an ad network and working with in-app ads.
Snapchat just recently announced a partnership with Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings in an effort to deepen its ad measurement options for advertisers.
