In a survey carried out earlier this year, mobile development company Sencha, in conjunction with Strategy Analytics, discovered HTML5 is likely to be the mobile platform displaying the highest level of growth in 2016.
The survey polled around 500 developers, and 92% said mobile would be their primary target over the coming year, and that HTML5 showed the strongest growth as a patform at 20%. A total of 84% also expect to develop for tablets, but only 36% for PCs.
Sencha says HTML5 will grow in 2016 as more developers use it for mobile app creation
Art Landro, CEO of Sancha, said:
“As this survey illustrates, we are seeing developers increasingly turning to HTML5 to build cross-platform web applications. In our conversations with enterprise customers, we consistently hear that they are using our web application platform to help them deliver on their application requirements in the face of fragmented mobile devices, form factors, platforms and operating systems. As developers and enterprises continue to manage the increased complexity of enterprise mobility and app development, I’m certain we’ll see HTML5 continue to emerge as the core app developer technology of choice.”
The survey also showed that 67% of developers also target business customers with apps. To learn more about Sencha, visit its company profile here.
