PowerSpike, a US influencer marketing and analytics platform connecting brands with gamers, has secured investment of $500,000 from backers including Techstars Atlanta – in partnership with Cox Enterprises, The Sixers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball, Dorm Room Fund and other angel investors.

PowerSpike’s artificial intelligence-driven platform charges brands a monthly SaaS fee to search for and connect with video game live streaming influencers to sponsor. The Atlanta, Georgia-based startup said in a blog post that it will use the financing to hire new talent and further develop it product and technology.

AJ Damiano, CEO, said:

“The barrier of entry for live streaming influencer marketing has remained high for years. PowerSpike’s platform makes live streaming sponsorships measurable and verifiable. With the help of our new investors, we’re able to continue developing the technology that opens an entirely new growth channel for marketers and allows live streamers to make a living doing what they love.”

Seth Berger, managing director at Sixers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball, added:

“We’re excited to invest in AJ Damiano and his talented management team. As former streamers, they’re acutely aware of the challenges PowerSpike aims to solve, and they are already on the right path. Streaming is a rapidly growing space we believe will continue to explode.”

Since launching its open beta in early 2017, PowerSpike claims that over 8,000 live streaming content creators with a combined audience of 20+ million viewers have signed up to receive sponsorships on the site.
