Urban Airship acquires Accengage to bolster mobile consumer engagement

Urban Airship, the digital engagement platform, just acquired Accengage, a provider of mobile CRM and push notifications, for an undisclosed sum to boost solutions for mobile apps, websites, SMS, email and mobile wallets.

Customers of the newly formed mobile customer engagement company will now be able to benefit from a technology expansion, and additional engineering resources.

The companies share expertise working with industries including retail, finance, media and travel and using similar programming languages. This should further speed up integration and complement their existing technologies.
