Even after five years of release, Mixi’s Monster Strike is still showing growth, and continues to be the highest earning mobile app of all time, taking an astonishing $7.2b over the years. According to Sensor Tower, during the third quarter of 2018, revenue was up 6% compared to the same period in 2017.
Monster Strike’s success means it stays in front of Puzzles & Dragons from GungHo Online Entertainment, which has taken an equally impressive $7b since its 2012 launch.
Sensor Tower uses Pokémon Go to illustrate the massive earning power of Monster Strike, In September, the Nintendo mobile AR hit made $85m, a strong showing. But Mixi’s game took $112m, 30% more than Pokémon Go, putting it second overall for the month, with Nintendo’s game in fourth.
Monster Strike has been downloaded 45 million times, and obviously shows no signs of slowing down.
