Calm, the meditation app, has announced that musician Moby’s latest album “Long Ambients 2” will be released exclusively on the app.
The artist said that he originally created the music to help him sleep.
“I originally made these songs for myself because I couldn’t find this type of music anywhere. Long Ambients 2 was designed to help me sleep and to help other people find calm and maybe get a good night’s sleep. I hope to share it with other people who have sleep issues or battle anxiety or have a hard time calming themselves down.”
The album follows Moby’s “Long Ambients 1: Calm. Sleep”, which is a collection of minimalist music. The second album takes listeners on a more immersive journey.
“We’re thrilled that Moby chose to launch his new album on Calm Music in a way that has never been done before. Music is the universal language; so, it makes perfect sense that it’s such a big and growing part of Calm and our mission to make the world happier and healthier,” Calm wrote in a blog post.
The news follow the closing of a Series B funding round worth $88 million to value the company at $1 billion, and marks the company’s rapid growth.
