Mobile payment platform Square has launched its Register API for Android, following on from its iOS launch back in March. Square produces card readers and payment solutions that operate through mobile phones, and the new API allows developers to create custom payment apps on Android for use at point-of-sale.

One of the most helpful aspects of Square’s Register API is that it avoids the need to handle any payments, along with all the compliance and regulatory needs that come with it. The Square SDK and Square Register handles the payment side through Square’s system. Square says that three lines of code are all that’s needed to start accepting payments through it.
