Mobile app security team AppKnox has ended a pre-Series A funding round, gathering $640,000 through several investors, with SeedPlus taking the lead. AppKnox assists developers and app publishers who want to ensure their apps are secure. After uploading an app to AppKnox, it’s put through a series of stress tests, deep probes, and human security breach tests to establish its level of protection.

In an interview with TechCrunch, CEO Prateek Panda said AppKnox’s work can cut down testing times from several weeks to just a few days, and it can even produce enough information to work on in only 10 minutes.
Based in India, AppKnox works with around 70 businesses, but is turning its attention to Singapore, where it’s in the process of exploring the market for opportunity. Further in the future, it intends to launch a test base in the U.S., and to expand further in Southeast Asia.
