Mobile app analytics company Localytics has launched an Apple Watch SDK, and added it to the existing iOS SDK, ready for marketers to begin understanding how users are interacting with the Apple smartwatch.
The company emphasizes that because the Apple Watch is so new, for advertisers to be successful in using it to engage with owners, they have to see how it’s really being used. For example, the SDK will show whether apps are used differently on the Watch over other devices, and measure the effectiveness of cross-channel campaigns.
Raj Aggarwal, Localytics CEO, said:
“The Apple Watch represents a new engagement opportunity for businesses but it’s still early days, so it’s important for app owners to get a clear sense of how their users are interacting with the Watch. Our Apple Watch SDK gives our customers the best chance of understanding how the Watch will impact their business, providing them with the knowledge they need to craft a relevant, personalized app marketing strategy.”
Localytics Apple Watch SDK will help developers make use of its Push API
By gaining a deeper understanding, advertisers can make best use of Localytics Push API, which doesn’t require app updates or developer support, to send timely and relevant messages to the Watch. Push notifications can be based on location, and are less likely to be missed on the Watch, plus potentially more helpful to wearers — delivering travel updates, retail store offers, and breaking news alerts.
Localytics news comes soon after Fiksu also announced Apple Watch app tracking inside its standard iOS SDK. You can learn more about Localytics by visiting its company profile here.
