Hot on the heels of its dispute with Facebook, mobile analytics company Kontagent has rebranded as ‘Upsight’ and launched a new platform to help app developers track behaviour and monetise users.
The new Upsight platform combines behaviour tracking with the ability to take action and send targeted messages to users. Three months ago Kontagent merged with game monetisation platform PlayHaven, so it seems we’re now seeing the fruits of this partnership.
Andy Yang, former PlayHaven CEO and current CEO of Upsight, said:
“App developers are clearly looking for a better solution to manage their business and want a comprehensive platform. We formed Upsight because we believe app developers needed one solution to help them bridge the gap from analysis to action. We think it takes an enterprise-grade analytics and marketing platform to do this and we’re rolling out a free way for every developer to get these tools.”
Upsight says a freemium version of the platform will be made available to developers, offering free unlimited access to core acquisition, engagement and revenue metrics, in order to optimise app performance. The Upsight platform also features a single SDK and single dashboard, allowing devs to manage all data, generate insights and market to their users from one solution.
According to Upsight, the company will also offer the services of trained marketers, who will dish out advice and help devs acquire high quality users, run engagement campaigns and retain existing users.
The mobile app tracking market is certainly heating up, with AppsFlyer recently securing funding and rival products from Mobile App Tracking, Adx and Kochava all vying for developers’ attention.
Kontagent’s rebrand follows its fallout with Facebook last month, which saw the company, along with competitor HasOffers, booted off the social network for violating user privacy policies.
