Instagram is changed the way people use its Stories feature by introducing Stories Highlights and Stories Archive. Stories are collections of stills and videos that are only viewable for 24-hours, and up until now, there has been no easy way to retain the content shared in a Story.

Stories Archive automatically saves your Stories and keeps them in a private file, where they can be re-watched again in the future. Archived Stories can be directly re-shared as a post, inserted into a new Story, or fuel Instagram’s other new feature — Stories Highlights.

Highlights can be found in a new section below your profile, and is a space for posting favorite Stories from the past. These do not expire after 24-hours, and remain active until you remove them. There is no limit to the amount of Stories Highlights a profile can show.

Instagram says:

“Story Highlights lets you show all the sides of your personality, and you can make highlights out of anything you’ve shared to your story in the past. From the best moments of your ongoing soccer season to all the stories you capture of your loved ones, the interests and activities that matter most to you have a home right on your profile.”

Instagram Stories Highlights and Stories Archive are part of version 25 of the iOS and Android app.
