Instagram may be testing a new feature allowing users to repost and share other Instagram posts to their own accounts. It’s being referred to as a “regram” feature, which is currently only available through third-party apps, or by manually downloading and uploading images.

Should Instagram introduce such a feature, it would streamline the process, and make it more secure. It would also change the look of user’s feeds entirely, potentially losing original content in amongst reposted images.

In the tests, according to The Next Web, a new button will be added alongside the Like, Comment, and Direct Message buttons, should the feature be approved. Its to the only feature Instagram is testing, and others include a Story Highlight system, a close friends list, and a share to WhatsApp button.

While these features are reportedly being tested, its not certain they will ever be widely launched, and haven’t been officially confirmed by Instagram.
