Mobile cloud gaming platform Hatch, a spin-off from game studio Rovio, has reached its one-year anniversary, and is celebrating by launching in new European markets. The service is no available in 10 different countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg and Sweden.
More than 100 content partners have joined Hatch in the last year, and over the Christmas period a new game will be showcased on its main page, ensuring players are aware of the variety available. The first game will be Star Vikings Forever, a Google Play Indie Games Festival finalist, which will be Hatch’s main title for December 1.
Following its December 2016 launch, the Hatch service went into open beta in Finland during the summer, and has expanded out into Europe as a full service since then.
CEO Juhani Honkala said in a blog post:
“One year on, what we’ve done is starting to sink in. The era of cloud gaming – with games running in cloud and mobile devices acting as screens and controllers – is really here to stay. Transformation in our industry is underway, and there’s no turning back.”
More from Hatch is promised in 2018.
