Chinese internet search company Baidu has seen considerable developer growth supporting its advertising platform over the last year. The DU Ad Platform (DAP) now has 2,400 active developers around the world, a 50% increase over the amount working on it in 2016.
This is in addition to strong user growth over the same period, bringing its monthly active user base to 800 million around the world. Average eCPM has increased by 35%.
Global business unit general manager Johnson Hu said:
“In 2017 alone, the number of third-party app users on DAP grew by more than 110%. We will keep innovating to ensure that DAP is always the top choice for developers and advertisers in 2018 and beyond.”
Assisting in Baidu’s rise in user and developer numbers are several new features added to the DAP platform this year, including an SDK for Apple’s iOS, and ad formats covering video, weather, caller, swipe, and rewarded video.
